Receipts on a phone: capture, name, retrieve

A receipt photographed for reimbursement is only useful until the moment it is needed. The difference between a photo roll and an archive is three small habits: capture, name, retrieve.

Capture means moving the image into an archive copy. Name means giving it a recognizable title, like supplier and date. Retrieve means being able to find it by tag or text later.

Rixin Archive is the Android app I built for this. From the Share or Open With menu, a receipt photo can be copied into an archive box, renamed, tagged, and given editable metadata. Core archiving is local-first. The free version contains advertising; Pro is an optional monthly subscription priced by Play region.

Expense season is a terrible time to discover that your receipts were never organized.
